Nashville, TN - Glenn Thomas releases his new single “Ice Cream Cones or Dinosaurs” on Thursday June 17th via Palace Flophouse Records. The song is a sweetly fingerpicked reflection of life through the eyes of two people watching clouds. It was produced by Jordan Lehning (Andrew Combs, Rodney Crowell) and Thomas, and features Austin Hoke (Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys) on cello and singing saw. Of the song, Glenn says, “I wrote this song thinking about how quickly life moves but how something like watching the clouds pass can freeze you in a moment that you’ve seemingly been in before. It’s as though these are the same clouds we’ve stared at before, yesterday, or as a child, and will be the same ones we are looking at 50 years from now.”

The single comes a year after Glenn released his acclaimed debut album “Reassure Me There’s a Window.” Also produced by Jordan Lehning, Billboard premiered the album and said “The 11-song set is a reinvention for Thomas, its rich melodies and careful arrangements nothing like anything he's released before.” The song continues Glenn’s approach to songwriting with detailed lyrics that Folk Radio UK described as “a thrown open window to the heart, and the view is wonderful.” Analogue Music wrote, “What makes Thomas’ songs so compelling is that nothing is wasted. Each lyric is turned again and again, shaped to perfection with such thoughtful care.”

Lyrics:

Still of the moment, breath of the trees

Backs to the grass, blood to the knees

Calls in the distance, heaven in reach

Near when you got here, near when you leave

The clouds hang like doorways into another’s eyes

Everything is anything in someone else’s mind

We were just laying there, trying to decide

If ice cream cones or dinosaurs were drifting through the sky

Something from nothing, kids from somewhere

Somehow each other found each other here

Drove through the darkness, drove sea to sea

It goes without saying, it goes too quickly

The clouds hang like doorways into another’s eyes

Everything is anything in someone else’s mind

We were just laying there, trying to decide

If ice cream cones or dinosaurs were drifting through the sky

Traveling onward, traveling home

Knowing it’s numbered, knowing we go
